
What is UHT/HTST?
Ultra-High Temperature (UHT) and High-Temperature Short-Time (HTST) treatments are essential heat processing techniques in the food and beverage industry. These methods rapidly eliminate pathogens while maintaining the nutritional and sensory qualities of the product.
UHT typically heats liquids to 135–150°C for 2–15 seconds, while HTST operates at 72–90°C for 15–30 seconds. Both methods effectively extend shelf life and are widely used in dairy, plant-based beverages, juices, sauces, and soups.
